How to Check Tyre Pressure
How to check Tyre Pressure.
Incorrect tyre pressure can lead to increased fuel consumption, uneven tyre wear and is a leading factor in tyre “blow outs”.
With the new Irish laws regarding tyres introduced in April, now is the time to get in the habit of checking your tyres pressure frequently.
Your vehicles optimum tyre pressure can be found in the vehicle handbook.
Here’s a quick and simple guide to check the pressure:
1. Refer to you owner’s manual and find the correct pressure.
2.Remove the dust cap from the tyre valve.
3.Insert the head of the Tyre Pressure Gauge into the valve.
4. Read the "PSI" indicator found on the display of the Tyre Pressure Gauge. Add air by pressing the valve fully. Remove air by lighty pressing the valve until you hear an audible "hissing" noise. Repeat until your PSI level is correct.
N.B Ensure to put the dust caps back on.
You're all done! Enjoy improved fuel economy, reduced maintenance costs and piece of mind that in the event of an emergency stop you and your loved ones are further protected from an accident.
